This project is a web browser extension aimed at improving literacy in adolescents and college students. I put emphasis on the brand and graphic designs in support of the browser extension interface.

Assessing the decline in literacy
In the modern world, the decrease in literacy has become an issue amongst adolescents and young adults. The issue is at risk to be much worse in the future, with the rise of short form content and misuse of AI.
Based on some research that I conducted:
A study showed a 20% decrease in literacy from 2016 to 2023
Another study showed a 13% decrease in standardized reading scores from 2015 to 2022
In a 2023 survey, 13% of college students reported that they enjoyed reading. In 2015, that number was 28% of college students
My Solution?
I designed a solution that uses AI to assist users in reading comprehension and focus, providing guided insights of texts and an interval timer to help with productivity planning. I made it a browser extension so that it integrates with user’s workflows more seamlessly (decreasing friction), instead of making them open a separate app.
