App #1: Apple Notes

Strengths:
  • Users can make custom lists that may help with outlining tasks

Weaknesses:
  • Lacks a reminder system

App #2: Google Calendar

Strengths:
  • Tasks and events can be created with built-in reminders

Weaknesses:
  • Tasks and events created with Google Calendar may get mixed up with non-school events/tasks

App #3: Notion

Strengths:
  • Extensive features for making lists and outlining plans

Weaknesses:
  • User experience may be confusing to navigate, especially on mobile

User Interview Takeaways:

Overwhelming majority of interviewees claimed to use an app for task management

Over half claimed to use their apps everyday; all answers fell within once a week
